Why I'm Running

I have spent the last year observing the district and having candid conversations with parents, teachers and administrators from across the district. There is so much good about Revere, from our gifted students to our passionate and involved parents, our dedicated teachers and administrators, to our fantastic curriculum that helps guide our students to success. However, I think anyone who has been paying attention, in an honest moment, would admit that over the last year there has been an increasing number of troubling indicators that show a breakdown in the culture of Revere. I have observed a growing distrust among some members of the community and the board, along with indications of a divided staff within certain buildings in the district. I believe we, collectively as a district, have lost sight of the most important priority and mission we all have; to ensure our students are given the absolute best shot at success at Revere schools and the runway they need to thrive in adulthood. We have let politics, our differences in ideology, and personal views on the world fracture the common bonds we all share: A love for our community and neighbors, the best interests of our kids, and our pride in the Revere Local School District.

I genuinely believe that my experience as a professional sports executive and now local business owner, my deeply rooted ties to Revere schools, and my love for the Bath/Richfield community make me uniquely suited to help bring unity to our district by serving on the Revere Local Schools Board of Education. I have no interest in allowing the polarizing nature of the current political climate to further impact the relationship between our school district and members of the community. There is absolutely no limit to what we can accomplish when it comes to advancing our district, but it requires us to open our minds and our hearts and be vulnerable enough to have constructive and genuine discourse about what is not going right at Revere Public Schools. I believe with every fiber of my being that if we truly work together to bridge these divides by having the tough conversations and collaborating to produce common sense solutions, then someday very soon we will all be celebrating together when our district is recognized for its rise to the top, and our students, teachers, administrators, and board members are a unified and thriving team.

Now let’s come together and do the work. For the kids, for our community, for each other, and to help make the world a better place for us all.
